Hidden away in Bingin, Slim Summer House was created as a place to properly slow down. Built by Holly Chippindale and her family, the space brings together the different creative worlds they’ve built over the years. From film photography to marble furniture design, evolving naturally into something more personal and lived-in.
For Holly, the connection to the area came long before Slim Summer House existed.
“We would come here ourselves on weekends,” she explains. “It was always our place to reset.”
That feeling became the foundation of the house itself. Designed as a retreat from fast-paced routines and constant movement, Slim Summer House balances calmness with the reality of modern life — especially for people constantly creating, building, and working.
“There’s still that balance of being workaholics,” Holly says, “but having a very calm place to come back to.”

Throughout the property, that mindset is reflected in the details. Open spaces, natural textures, soft light, and an atmosphere that encourages guests to slow their pace rather than fill every moment.
When asked about her favourite part of the space, Holly finds it difficult to choose.
The pool house naturally draws her in — home to the sauna, ice bath, and recovery space designed for complete physical and mental reset. But the pool itself remains one of the defining features of Slim Summer House, becoming a central place where guests gather, unwind, and settle into the slower rhythm of the property.
More than anything, Holly loves watching the house come alive through the people staying there.
“We love seeing people gathering, unwinding, and enjoying Slim Summer House,” she says.
For this edition of Friends of Arlo, we explore the world Holly and her family have created; one built around creativity, recovery, connection, and making space to properly switch off.
